Personality: An aloof and seemingly slow type of person. His students have trouble taking him seriously because of his childish sunny disposition. He is easily caught off guard, but paranormal activity doesn't surprise him in the least. In fact he's frighteningly calm during even the most bizarre phenomena and will talk to ghosts, demons and zombies with the same friendly attitude he gives his students. Storyline: (Past) Kael was brought up by a very spiritual family. Not only was he taught to believe in the supernatural, but he was given firsthand experience from the start of his training. Both of his parents were trained the exact same way and expected him to handle it, even at a young age. However, because of their decisions, he had a rather stressful childhood. If expectations weren't enough, because of his parents' occupations, their house was also haunted. Thus forcing their son to deal with all of the unexplained phenomena. Although they had the power to help him all along, they refused to.. They insisted this was the only way he would learn on his own: by dealing with it all by himself. They planned to never reveal their true abilities nor knowledge of the said hauntings, until Kael had overcome his fears.

Now, not only were these spirits attracted to their home for the fact that they performed rituals regularly, but, those gifted with supernatural abilities (or 'sensitives' as they call them) stood out like beacons of light to spirits. Afterall, most of them fed off of the living's energy in order to support their connection to the physical world. Then, while evil spirits tend to feed off of negative emotions like hate and fear, some contact people for other reasons too. Like to tell a tragic story about their life or make final amends before passing over. Kael was taught all of this, making him adept in paranormal cases, but not much else...

Eventually there came a point in Kael's life where he was haunted daily. The evil spirits would seek him out and try to feed from his weakened energy and negative feelings. Particularly, the stress and anxiety from his responsibilities at home, his training and school. So one day he forced himself to put on a mask, in order to dispel the cruel thoughts and images that came to his mind. Not a literal mask, but the mental and emotional kind. This enabled him to control the affect the spirits had on him. In this way, he was able to stop the future effects of physical weakness or illness, which spirits could inflict upon the living. He also became a self-righteous optimist, and started to cling to religion to feel safe. His parents had no objection to this, though they were more spiritually open-minded than they were loyal to Gods.

Outside his home, the children at school thought Kael was strange, so he was an outcast. Coming to school with good luck charms and seals tied to him, praying frequently and talking about otherworldly things; the other students either found him very interesting or very disturbing... Kael found socializing complicated, becoming more reclusive than outgoing, as he naturally was. However as time passed, like with his training, Kael learned to adapt to the circumstances. By his teen years, he had grown stronger spiritually and emotionally enough to no longer be an outcast. By then the nightmares had faded from his memory and he began to come out of his shell once more.

Now focusing on becoming more physically adept, like most boys his age. Whether it was playing sports or joining clubs after school, Kael became friendlier over time. He wanted to forget his childhood ever existed, so he never told his friends about those things anymore. Still, he was bound to his family's career choices through loyalty and honor. Whether he liked this or not, he became very talented in dealing with the supernatural to the point where he could not deny it. So he would take on odd jobs dealing in such things. From banishing spirits to full on exorcisms, to even communicating with someone's dead relatives.

(Present) At the age of 20, Kael became a teacher of the disciples who trained at the Sun Temple. Those disciples would one day become guardians; proud warriors, healers and magicians who would be defending their country. His mentorship at the Sun Temple seems a bit awkward though, because his personality is more gentle than most of the other teachers and students. The students joke that he was given the wrong directions to the Moon Temple and ended up working here instead. Possibly because of his reputation of being easily duped. Still he does his best to keep the students happy, even so far as to donate his own pay towards field trips, snacks and other things. He's well liked because of his kindness and yet he's often stepped on because of that, allowing most of his students to slack off. Particularly, he has trouble with a student named Yin (though that's another story). Kael is often scolded because of his lack of discipline; however, he's highly valued for his diplomacy with the undead and spirits. It's rumored that his father was a necromancer and his mother, perhaps a shaman. This is assumed because he says "The only reason I follow this line of work, would be to honor my family.", which he doesn't like to talk about.

As the days went by Kael thought he was beginning to live a humdrum life and his days were filled with teaching children and training; which he thought were starting to become pointless (no matter how fun they were). Even the invigorating daydreams of a time where he could save the world, didn't seem to brighten his day as usual... Nothing was going on and time passed by slowly. Then he noticed the new staff member. How long had she been working here? It wasn't quite her looks that got his attention at first, but her energy, or maybe her aura. He sensed she was different from the others at the temple... but he wasn't sure how. Having faith in his intuition, he asked around about the new girl and found out that her name was Satsuki and her being there was a complete accident! No one was sure where she originated from. Kael became curious and was determined to figure out who she was. He couldn't shake the feeling that she had some importance, and with all of the wars lately, he didn't want to take any risks while protecting his people.

At first Kael is very suspicious of Satsuki and spies on her. Though he is somewhat bad at this, and is lucky she wasn't looking at the time or that she was behaving seemingly careless. Satsuki knew she wasn't doing anything wrong to have had a stalker in the first place. However, Kael had another problem; not only is the girl of his interest hard to get any leads from, but he has a practical fan club of girls pursuing him from the temple by now! (Being one of the younger, better-looking masters can be really troublesome...) This makes getting to her even more difficult. However, sooner or later some of the other teachers who are close to Kael, notice his interest in Satsuki. They start to tease him as if he's romantically interested in her. Of course he tries to protest otherwise, but they don't take him seriously and ignore his pleas that she may be a threat of some kind. After awhile it comes Kael's time to work along side Satsuki, and he realizes he cannot find anything peculiar about her, so he stops trying to spy on her. Instead he tries to get her to talk with him directly, though he makes a fool of himself most of the time. Even to the point of sounding like he has a crush on her.. though at the time he didn't mean it. Needless to say, she gets to him and he starts to become frustrated.
